Royal Society Publishing will shortly publish From action to language:comparative perspectives on primate tool use, gesture and the evolution of human language, compiled and edited by James Steele, Pier Francesco Ferrari and Leonardo Fogassi.
This is a special issue of Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society Series B, and was an outcome of the EC-funded HandToMouth project which James co-ordinated. This collaborative project developed a framework for understanding archaeological and fossil evidence for the evolution of speech and manual dexterity and was divided into 8 work packages which were carried out at universities across Europe. Further details are available at the journal's website - see link below.
The issue contents are available on the Royal Society publishing website. The print issue is available at the special price of £47.50. You can order this online via the above web page (enter special code TB 1585 when prompted) or, alternatively, you can contact email@example.com
